Nick Holden is a former professional ice hockey player who played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on May 15, 1987, in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. Holden began his hockey career playing for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2005. He played for the Chiefs for two seasons before moving on to play for the NCAA Division I team, the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Holden was not drafted by any NHL team, but he signed as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2008. He played for the Blue Jackets' minor league affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, for two seasons before making his NHL debut in 2010. Holden played in 13 games for the Blue Jackets during the 2010-2011 season, recording one assist.

Holden was traded to the New York Rangers in 2013, where he played for four seasons. He was a solid defenseman for the Rangers, playing in 298 games and recording 28 goals and 72 assists. Holden was known for his strong defensive play and his ability to move the puck up the ice.
