P.A. Parenteau is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for ten seasons. He was born on March 24, 1983, in Hull, Quebec, Canada. Parenteau began his hockey career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in 2000. He played for the Sagueneens for four seasons, scoring 327 points in 259 games.

Parenteau was not drafted by any NHL team, but he signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Ducks in 2006. He played for the Ducks' minor league affiliate, the Portland Pirates, for two seasons before making his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2007. Parenteau played for the Blackhawks for one season before being traded to the New York Rangers in 2008.

Parenteau played for the Rangers for two seasons, scoring 38 points in 102 games. He then signed with the New York Islanders in 2010 and had a breakout season, scoring 53 points in 81 games. Parenteau continued to play for the Islanders for two more seasons, scoring 120 points in 161 games.

Parenteau retired from professional hockey in 2018. He played in a total of 491 NHL games, scoring 296 points. Parenteau was known for his offensive skills, particularly his ability to score goals and set up his teammates. He was also a reliable player who could be counted on to play in all situations.
