Manning began his career playing college football for the University of Tennessee, where he won the Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien Award. He was then selected first overall in the 1998 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. During his time with the Colts, Manning led the team to eight division championships, two AFC championships, and one Super Bowl victory. He was also named the NFL MVP four times and was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times.
In 2012, Manning signed with the Denver Broncos and led the team to four consecutive division titles, two AFC championships, and one Super Bowl victory. He was named the NFL MVP in 2013 and was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons with the Broncos.
Manning retired in 2016 after 18 seasons in the NFL. He is the all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and wins by a quarterback. He also holds numerous NFL records, including most passing yards in a single season, most passing touchdowns in a single season, and most career game-winning drives.
Manning was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and one of the most influential players in NFL history.
