Rex Brothers is a former American professional baseball player who played as a relief pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 18, 1987, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, and attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brothers was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the first round of the 2009 MLB draft and made his MLB debut on June 6, 2011. He spent the majority of his career with the Rockies, playing for them from 2011 to 2015. During his time with the Rockies, Brothers was known for his high strikeout rate and his ability to pitch in high-pressure situations.

In 2013, Brothers had a breakout season, recording 19 saves and a 1.74 ERA in 72 appearances. He was named the Rockies' Pitcher of the Year and was also selected to the National League All-Star team. However, Brothers struggled in the following season, posting a 5.59 ERA in 74 appearances.

After the 2015 season, Brothers was traded to the Chicago Cubs, where he played for one season before being released. He then signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2017 and spent two seasons with the team. During his time with the Braves, Brothers struggled with his control and posted a 7.23 ERA in 33 appearances.

In 2019, Brothers signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians but did not make it to the major league roster. He then signed with the Texas Rangers in 2020 but did not play due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brothers announced his retirement from professional baseball on March 31, 2021, at the age of 33. Over the course of his career, he recorded a 3.82 ERA and 20 saves in 329 appearances.

Off the field, Brothers was known for his philanthropic work. He and his wife founded the Brothers Family Foundation, which supports various charitable organizations in the Nashville area.
