Rian Lindell is a former American football placekicker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for over a decade. He was born on January 20, 1977, in Salem, Oregon, and attended Mountain View High School in Bend, Oregon. Lindell played college football at Washington State University, where he was a standout kicker for the Cougars.

After going undrafted in the 2000 NFL Draft, Lindell signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent. However, he was released before the start of the regular season and signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Lindell spent the next ten seasons with the Seahawks, where he established himself as one of the most reliable kickers in the league.

During his time with the Seahawks, Lindell set several franchise records, including most field goals made in a season (32) and most consecutive field goals made (18). He also made the game-winning field goal in the 2004 NFC Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers, which helped the Seahawks advance to the divisional round of the playoffs.

In 2010, Lindell signed with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. He spent the next four seasons with the Bills, where he continued to be a consistent and reliable kicker. In 2013, Lindell was released by the Bills and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played in his final NFL season.

Over the course of his NFL career, Lindell made 81.3% of his field goal attempts and 98.3% of his extra point attempts. He scored a total of 1,006 points and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2006.

Lindell was known for his accuracy and consistency as a kicker, as well as his ability to make clutch kicks in pressure situations. He was also respected by his teammates and coaches for his work ethic and professionalism.

After retiring from the NFL, Lindell returned to his hometown of Vancouver, Washington, where he currently works as a financial advisor. He is also involved in various charitable organizations, including the Rian Lindell Foundation, which supports youth sports programs in the Pacific Northwest.
