Robert Tate is a former American football player who played as a cornerback and kick returner in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Cincinnati and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 1997.

Tate spent the majority of his NFL career with the Vikings, where he played from 1997 to 2001. During his time with the team, he was primarily used as a kick returner and a backup cornerback. He had his best season in 1999, when he returned 39 kickoffs for 1,001 yards and a touchdown.

In 2002, Tate signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent. He played two seasons with the team, primarily as a nickel cornerback and special teams player. He had a career-high three interceptions in 2003.

After leaving the Ravens, Tate signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2004. He played two seasons with the team, primarily as a backup cornerback and special teams player. He had one interception during his time with the Cardinals.

Tate's NFL career came to an end in 2006, when he was released by the Cardinals during the preseason. He finished his career with 10 interceptions, 1,001 kickoff return yards, and one touchdown.

Since retiring from football, Tate has worked as a high school football coach and a personal trainer. He has also been involved in various charitable organizations, including the Robert Tate Foundation, which provides scholarships and mentoring to underprivileged youth.
