Stark was selected by the Baltimore Colts in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft, and he played for the Colts for four seasons before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 1986. He played for the Bills for two seasons before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 1988.
Stark played for the Colts for six seasons, from 1988 to 1993, and he was named to the Pro Bowl in 1992. He then played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons, from 1994 to 1995, before finishing his career with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1996 to 1997.
