Ryan Johansen is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who has had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 31, 1992, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and began playing hockey at a young age.

Johansen was drafted fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2011 and quickly established himself as a talented center. In his rookie season, he scored 21 points in 67 games and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team.

Over the next few seasons, Johansen continued to improve his game and became one of the Blue Jackets' top players. In the 2013-14 season, he scored a career-high 33 goals and 63 points, earning him a spot in the NHL All-Star Game.

In January 2016, Johansen was traded to the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Seth Jones. He quickly became a key player for the Predators, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2017. In the playoffs that year, Johansen scored 13 points in 14 games before suffering a season-ending injury in the Western Conference Final.

Johansen continued to be a productive player for the Predators over the next few seasons, but his production began to decline in the 2019-20 season. He scored just 36 points in 68 games and was a healthy scratch for a few games.

In the 2020-21 season, Johansen bounced back and had a solid year, scoring 33 points in 48 games. He also played a key role in the Predators' playoff run, scoring 11 points in 13 games.

Overall, Johansen has had a successful NHL career, scoring 496 points in 759 games as of 2022. He has also represented Canada in international competition, winning a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF World Championships.
