Scott Arniel is a former professional ice hockey player and coach. He began his career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Winnipeg Jets in 1981. He played for several teams in the WHL and the American Hockey League (AHL) before making his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with the Jets in 1988.

Arniel played for the Jets, Buffalo Sabres, and Boston Bruins during his NHL career. He was known for his offensive skills and was a consistent scorer throughout his career. He retired from playing in 1994 and began his coaching career in the AHL.

Arniel coached several AHL teams before becoming an assistant coach with the NHL's Buffalo Sabres in 2002. He then became the head coach of the AHL's Manitoba Moose in 2006 and led them to the Calder Cup Finals in 2009. He was named the AHL's Coach of the Year that season.

In 2010, Arniel was hired as the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets. He coached the team for two seasons before being fired in 2012. He then became an assistant coach with the New York Rangers for four seasons before being hired as the head coach of the AHL's Belleville Senators in 2017.

Throughout his career, Arniel was known for his leadership and ability to develop young players. He was also known for his offensive strategies and was often praised for his team's ability to score goals. Despite some ups and downs in his coaching career, Arniel remained a respected figure in the hockey world and was known for his dedication to the sport.
