Si Griffis was a professional hockey player who played in the National Hockey Association (NHA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born in 1891 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Griffis began his hockey career in 1912 when he joined the Ottawa Senators of the NHA. He played with the Senators for two seasons before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1914. With the Canadiens, Griffis was part of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 1916.

Griffis then moved to the NHL when it was formed in 1917. He played with the Montreal Wanderers for two seasons before joining the Toronto Arenas in 1919. He played with the Arenas for one season before retiring from professional hockey.

Throughout his career, Griffis was known for his physical style of play and his ability to score goals. He was also known for his leadership and was often the captain of the teams he played for.

Griffis was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962. He is remembered as one of the greatest players of his era and is credited with helping to shape the game of hockey.
