Sidney Moncrief is a former professional basketball player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He was a five-time NBA All-Star, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a member of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
Moncrief was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas, where he was a two-time All-American. After college, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1979 NBA Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the best players in the league, earning five All-Star selections and two Defensive Player of the Year awards during his time with the Bucks.
Moncrief was known for his tenacious defense and his ability to score from anywhere on the court. He was a great shooter, a great passer, and an excellent rebounder. He was also a great leader, and was often credited with helping to turn the Bucks into a championship-caliber team.
Moncrief retired from the NBA in 1991, but his legacy lives on. He is remembered as one of the greatest players of all time, and his impact on the game of basketball is still felt today. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and his number (4) has been retired by the Bucks.
