Stephen Hauschka is a former American football placekicker who played for several teams in the National Football League (NFL) during his career. He began his professional career in 2008 as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings, but was released before the start of the regular season. He then signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the majority of his rookie season on the practice squad.
In 2009, Hauschka signed with the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent the next three seasons. During his time with the Seahawks, he established himself as a reliable kicker, making 87.9% of his field goal attempts and earning a reputation for his accuracy and consistency. He also played a key role in the team's Super Bowl XLVIII victory in 2014, making all three of his field goal attempts in the game.
After leaving the Seahawks in 2016, Hauschka signed with the Buffalo Bills, where he spent the next three seasons. During his time with the Bills, he continued to be a consistent and reliable kicker, making 82.9% of his field goal attempts and earning a reputation as one of the most accurate kickers in the league.
In 2019, Hauschka signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released after just four games due to a decline in his performance. He then signed with the Buffalo Bills for a second stint, but was released after the 2020 season.
Throughout his career, Hauschka was known for his accuracy and consistency as a kicker, and was widely regarded as one of the best kickers in the league during his prime. He finished his career with a field goal percentage of 85.7%, and made 264 of his 308 field goal attempts. He also made 354 of his 358 extra point attempts, and scored a total of 1,146 points over the course of his career.
