Syd Howe was a Canadian professional hockey player who had an illustrious career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Quakers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with the Red Wings in 1936 and the Maple Leafs in 1945.

Howe was a prolific scorer, finishing his career with 473 goals and 472 assists in 848 games. He was also a great playmaker, setting up many of his teammates for scoring chances. He was a two-time NHL All-Star and was named to the NHL's First All-Star Team in 1939.

Howe was a great defensive player as well. He was a great penalty killer and was known for his physical play. He was also an excellent stickhandler and was able to control the puck in tight spaces.

Howe was a leader on and off the ice. He was a great teammate and was always willing to help out his fellow players. He was also a great mentor to younger players, teaching them the fundamentals of the game.
