Ted Ginn Jr. is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. He was born on April 12, 1985, in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Glenville High School, where he was a standout athlete in football and track.

Ginn played college football at Ohio State University, where he was a two-time consensus All-American and a member of the 2006 BCS National Championship team. He was known for his speed and agility, and was considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Ginn was selected ninth overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2007 NFL Draft, and played for the team for three seasons. He was primarily used as a kick and punt returner, and also saw some action as a wide receiver. In his rookie season, he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.

In 2010, Ginn was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, where he played for three seasons. He continued to excel as a return specialist, and also saw more playing time as a wide receiver. In 2011, he set a career high with 56 receptions for 787 yards and two touchdowns.

Ginn then signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2013, where he played for three seasons. He had a career year in 2015, with 44 receptions for 739 yards and 10 touchdowns, helping the Panthers reach Super Bowl 50.

After his time with the Panthers, Ginn played for the Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears, before retiring in 2020. He finished his career with 412 receptions for 5,742 yards and 33 touchdowns, and also had seven kickoff return touchdowns and four punt return touchdowns.

Throughout his career, Ginn was known for his speed and agility, and was one of the top return specialists in the NFL. He was also a reliable receiver, with a career catch rate of 56.7 percent.
