Teemu Selanne is a Finnish hockey legend who is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time. He began his professional career in 1988 with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League, where he was the league's top scorer in his rookie season. He then moved to the NHL in 1992, where he was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets.

Selanne quickly established himself as one of the premier players in the NHL, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie in 1993. He was also named to the NHL All-Star team in his first season. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017 and his number 8 jersey was retired by the Anaheim Ducks in 2015.
