Todd Peterson is a former American football placekicker who played for several teams during his career. He began his football career at the University of Georgia, where he played from 1988 to 1991. During his time at Georgia, Peterson set several records, including the school record for most field goals made in a season and the SEC record for most consecutive extra points made.

After college, Peterson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants in 1993. He spent one season with the Giants before being released and signing with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994. Peterson played for the 49ers for two seasons, during which he set a team record for most field goals made in a season.

In 1996, Peterson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played for six seasons. During his time with the Chiefs, Peterson became the team's all-time leading scorer and set a team record for most consecutive field goals made. He also earned a Pro Bowl selection in 1999.

After leaving the Chiefs in 2002, Peterson played for several other teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Atlanta Falcons. He retired from football in 2005.

Throughout his career, Peterson was known for his accuracy and consistency as a kicker. He finished his career with a field goal percentage of 80.6% and a total of 1,292 points scored. He also set several records for the teams he played for and earned recognition as one of the top kickers in the league during his prime.
