Tomas Kopecky is a former Slovakian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over a decade. He was born on February 5, 1982, in Ilava, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia).

Kopecky began his professional career in Slovakia, playing for HK Dukla Trencin in the Slovak Extraliga. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, and he made his NHL debut with the team in 2005.
