Tomas Plekanec is a retired Czech professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over 15 seasons. He was born on October 31, 1982, in Kladno, Czechoslovakia. Plekanec began his professional career in the Czech Extraliga with HC Kladno in 1999. He played for the team for four seasons before being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Plekanec made his NHL debut with the Canadiens in the 2003-04 season and quickly established himself as a reliable two-way center. He was known for his strong defensive play, faceoff skills, and ability to contribute offensively. Plekanec played for the Canadiens for 14 seasons, becoming one of the team's most consistent and respected players.
