Vladimir Vujtek was a professional ice hockey player from Czechoslovakia who played as a forward. He began his career in the Czechoslovak Extraliga, playing for HC Dukla Jihlava, where he won two league titles. In 1984, he was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the NHL Entry Draft, but he did not immediately join the team.

Instead, Vujtek continued to play in Czechoslovakia until 1989, when he defected to the United States. He signed with the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League, where he played for two seasons. In 1991, he finally joined the Calgary Flames, but he only played in 11 games before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers.

Vujtek played for the Oilers for two seasons before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He played for the Lightning for one season before being traded to the Ottawa Senators. He played for the Senators for two seasons before being traded to the New York Islanders. He played for the Islanders for one season before being traded to the Nashville Predators.

Vujtek played for the Predators for one season before returning to Europe to play in the Swiss National League A. He played for HC Davos for two seasons before retiring from professional hockey in 2003.

Throughout his career, Vujtek was known for his offensive skills and his ability to score goals. He was also known for his toughness and his willingness to play a physical game. He was a fan favorite wherever he played, and he was respected by his teammates and opponents alike.

After retiring from professional hockey, Vujtek became a coach. He coached in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Switzerland, and he also coached the Slovak national team at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He is currently the head coach of HC Kometa Brno in the Czech Extraliga.
