Zelmo Beaty was an American professional basketball player who had a successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a three-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 1972.

Beaty was born in Hillister, Texas and attended Prairie View A&M University, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the St. Louis Hawks in the 1962 NBA Draft and played for the team until 1966. He then moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played until 1972. He was a key member of the Lakers' 1971-72 championship team.

Beaty was known for his strong rebounding and defensive skills. He was a great shot blocker and was able to guard multiple positions. He was also a great passer and had a good mid-range jump shot. He was an excellent team player and was known for his leadership and unselfishness.

Beaty was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He was also named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996. He was a great player who had a successful career and was respected by his peers and fans alike.
