19 The Arizona Cardinals have not signed a pass rusher in free agency yet but they are doing homework on pass-rushing prospects in the NFL draft. According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Cardinals were set to have multiple meetings with UAB pass rusher Alex Wright. - The Cardinals met with Wright at the NFL combine and were scheduled to meet virtually with Wright. - Wright played three seasons at UAB and had 11.5 total sacks and 19 tackles for loss. In 2021, he had 45 tackles, six sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss. - At the combine, he measured 6-5 1/8 and weighed 271 pounds. He had 34-inch arms. - He did not do the athletic and agility testing at the combine but pushed up 15 reps of the bench press at 225 lbs. He injured his pec and did not do athletic testing at his pro day either. - He is considered a raw prospect who has the physical and athletic traits needed to be an effective edge defender in the NFL. - The Cardinals have five picks on Day 3.
