The Chicago Bears are coming off another disappointing season that ushered in a new regime with general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus. The hope is they’ll be the guys to get the franchise back on track. - While parting ways with both GM Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy was a step in the right direction, it doesn’t guarantee success for their franchise moving forward. And there are plenty that are skeptical about Chicago’s chances heading into the 2022 season. - NFL.com unveiled its post-Super Bowl power rankings, where the Bears landed among the worst in the league at 24th. Although, considering their 6-11 finish and concerns on the roster, it’s not really a surprise. - The Bears got their much-needed reboot. Matt Eberflus replaces Matt Nagy at head coach and  Ryan Poles steps in for Ryan Pace at GM. The new braintrust will be tasked with doing what the previous regime could not: build up a competent offense around young quarterback Justin Fields. The former first-round pick flashed at times during an uneven rookie campaign, and it is imperative that the Bears put their focus on building around the quarterback ahead of Year 2. That’s especially true at wide receiver, a positional group that needs close to a total overhaul. New Matt, New Ryan — get to work. - The biggest key will be the development of quarterback Justin Fields and the offense under offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, who vowed to cater his offense to the strengths of his players. - With Eberflus in place, the Bears defense has a chance to get back to their dominant form, although that’s going to require some help from Poles in adding the right players to the roster. - There aren’t a lot of expectations surrounding Chicago heading into the 2022 season. But maybe that’s a good thing. After last season, there’s nowhere to go but up. - Follow The Bears Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - List - - Bears potential 2022 offseason cuts and cap casualties - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bears Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bears Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
