It’s already been a whirlwind of a Friday for the Chicago Bears as free agency continues. - The Bears are signing former Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Justin Jones to a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. There are currently no other details about his contract. - The move comes shortly after news that Chicago wouldn’t be signing defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, who failed to pass a physical. Ogunjobi had surgery on his foot in January after injuring it during the Cincinnati Bengals’ wild-card win over the Las Vegas Raiders. - Jones, 25, is a former third-round pick by the Chargers in 2018. After appearing in 15 games during his rookie season, Jones stepped into a starting role along the defensive line. He’s been the Chargers’ best run stopper over the last three years. - - DL Justin Jones is signing with the #Bears on a two-year deal, per source. - — Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) March 18, 2022 - - - Jones is coming off an impressive season with the Chargers, where he had career highs in tackles (37), sacks (3.0) and QB hits (5).
