The Chicago Bears appear to be nearing the end of their search for a new general manager, as they have narrowed their list of finalists down to at least three: Ryan Poles, Monti Ossenfort and Eliot Wolf. - But there’s a ton of buzz surrounding Poles, who’s the presumed favorite for the job. It certainly helps that Bears Chairman George McCaskey was seen escorting Poles from the airport when he arrived in Chicago for his second interview on Tuesday. - SI’s Albert Breer appeared on ESPN 1000’s Kap & J. Hood, where he believes that Poles will be Chicago’s new GM by end of day Tuesday. - “I think Ryan Poles might be the next domino to fall,” Breer said. “…The Bears, right now, are in a situation where, if they let him get on the plane to Minnesota, there’s a possibility they lose him to the Vikings. …I think there’s a possibility that Ryan Poles is the new general manager of the Chicago Bears by the end of the day on Tuesday.” - Breer went on to explain that a big reason for that is Poles being in demand within Chicago’s own division. If the Bears were to let Poles head to Minnesota to interview with the Vikings, there’s a chance they lose who some believe to be Chicago’s favorite for their GM vacancy. - If Poles is indeed the guy for the Bears, there’s no way they can let him leave Halas Hall without locking him down as their next GM. If they do, they risk their division rivals, Minnesota, swooping in to steal him. - Follow The Bears Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - List - - Bears GM candidate profile: Get to know Ryan Poles - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bears Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bears Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
