Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield is off of social media following his shoulder surgery due to concerns about its toxic nature. Mayfield had surgery in the middle of January to take care of his torn labrum that caused him problems since Week 2 of the 2021 season. - In his post-surgery video, Cleveland’s quarterback was in a sling to protect the shoulder following the procedure. The team released a statement about Mayfield’s surgery and recovery, noting that he would not start light throwing until April and full recovery between four and six months. - Given the fragile nature of the shoulder and the length of his full recovery, some were surprised when Colin Cowherd posted this photo of Mayfield on Thursday night without a sling on: - - I have been critical but I need to be fair too. Baker was at my friends place tonight. Could not have been nicer and classier. David was really impressed. Made my night. Thank you ⁦@bakermayfield⁩. #SlayItalian pic.twitter.com/yIGpZ0PEee - — Colin Cowherd (@ColinCowherd) January 28, 2022 - - - As he noted, Cowherd has long been a critic of Mayfield but his close friend spoke glowingly about the quarterback. - With him swearing off social media, posts from others will be the primary way fans will get updates on the Browns quarterback. This picture seems to be a good sign that his recovery is going well and he doesn’t need a sling when out to dinner. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Browns Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Browns Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
