The Cleveland Browns will be losing another executive this offseason. Earlier, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was hired by the Minnesota Vikings as their general manager. Adofo-Mensah was the team’s vice president of football operations for the last two seasons. - The loss of Adofo-Mensah should give Cleveland an extra third-round pick in this year’s NFL draft and another in next year’s. - Outside of the top jobs, normally front office turnover takes place after that year’s draft. Most scouts and front office executives have contracts that run through that event. The Browns front office could see other departures at that time but Andrew Berry is losing a senior advisor now, reportedly: - - The #Vikings are hiring Ryan Grigson for a senior role in the football personnel department, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The former #Colts GM has served as a personnel exec for the #Browns (alongside Kwesi Adolfo-Mensah) and #Seahawks since his five-year stint in Indy. - — Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) February 9, 2022 - - - As noted by Garafolo, going to Minnesota reunites Grigson and Adofo-Mensah. While his role has not been identified yet, it is likely Grigson gets a title more familiar in NFL front offices as he looks to build his resume back up. - Grigson’s time as the Indianapolis Colts GM has been roundly criticized for his inability to build around and protect Andrew Luck. His trade for Trent Richardson stands out as his most disastrous move as he gave up a first-round pick for a running back who was unable to produce. - With Berry losing two members of his front office, it will be interesting if Cleveland brings in replacements especially if they lose other executives after the draft. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Browns Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Browns Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
