Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is one of three finalists to be the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. - According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Hackett is joined by Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell and Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as the three finalists for the job. - Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Hackett will get a second interview with the Broncos on Monday in Denver. - The Broncos fired Vic Fangio after he went 19-30 over three years as the head coach, including a 7-10 finish in 2021. - Hackett has been Matt LaFleur’s offensive coordinator since 2019. Over the last three seasons, the Packers finished 15th, first and 10th in points scored. - Not only is Hackett well-versed in the West Coast offense and the scheme developed by the likes of LaFleur, Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay, but he spent the last three years building the red-zone plan and working with Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to win his second straight NFL MVP. - The Broncos hiring Hackett as head coach would add another intriguing layer to Rodgers’ future with the Packers.
