With the Senior Bowl now in the rearview mirror, the Indianapolis Colts have a better idea of how they want to construct their big board for the 2022 NFL draft. - Our friends over at Draft Wire conducted an updated three-round mock draft following the Senior Bowl. For the Colts, they focused on two of the biggest needs on the offensive side of the ball. - With the No. 47 overall pick, the Colts landed former Purdue wide receiver David Bell. - Amid the breakout season of Michael Pittman Jr., the Colts found out the wide receiver room isn’t all that deep. Adding a talent like Bell, whose been producing since his freshman season, would be a strong complement to Pittman Jr. in the offense. - Bell recorded 93 receptions for 1,286 yards and six touchdowns during the 2021 season. He would immediately compete for the WR2 role behind Pittman Jr., likely playing both inside and on the boundary. - In the third round of this mock draft, the Colts went to the quarterback position with a familiar name. At the No. 82 overall pick, the Colts added former Nevada quarterback Carson Strong. - Strong may have the best arm of all of the quarterbacks in this class. He has shown promising processing skills in the pocket. He’s limited as an athlete and won’t create much with his legs while the issues of knee injuries could hurt his draft stock. - But if the Colts are truly considering a change at quarterback, Strong appears to be one of the top prospects in this draft. - Like Colts Wire on Facebook - Follow Colts Wire on Twitter - Follow Kevin on Twitter (@KevinHickey11) - - RelatedHow Philip Rivers played a role in Colts hiring DC Gus BradleyReport: Steelers request to interview Morocco Brown for GM vacancyColts' Eric Fisher among The Athletic's top 2022 free agents - - List - - 11 takeaways from Gus Bradley's press conference - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Colts Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Colts Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
