The Indianapolis Colts defense took a major shot when safety Julian Blackmon suffered an Achilles tear midway through the 2021 regular season. - While the Colts tried to patchwork some spot starts at the safety position, Blackmon has been hard at work trying to get back as quickly as possible. The Utah product was a serious playmaker for the Colts during his first six games. - According to Pro Football Focus, Blackmon allowed three receptions on five targets for 46 yards and a 90.4 passer rating. He also added three run stops to his total during those first six games. - The safety position is among the biggest needs for the Colts this offseason. Depth is needed behind their starters in a big way.
