Hancock failed to show for a game in Camden on Dec 31, 1898. Shortly afterwards a letter dated Dec 28, 1898 was received by the League from Hancock who withdrew from the league. On Jan 7, 1899 a league meeting was held in which the Hancock franchise was officially annulled.
