The 2022 NFL draft is less than three months away and is approaching quickly. The New York Giants have nine picks, including the Nos. 5 and 7 overall selections and have a roster in dire need of an infusion of talent. - In his latest piece on each team’s draft need, Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus provided this analysis of the Giants at the moment. - NEW YORK GIANTS: IOL, LB, EDGE - “Some teams have several needs listed but may only have one that is pressing. For New York, these three position groups are all massive issues. The interior offensive line ranked dead last in unit pass-block grade, the linebacker corps was the third-lowest-graded and the edge group ranked fourth-to-last in pass-rush grade. The cap situation is a disaster for the Giants, but they are rich in draft capital, anchored by two top-10 picks.” - The Giants are likely to use one or both of their first two picks on the offensive line but will not pass up an opportunity to select a stud at another position should one be available to them. - The Giants have to make some deep cuts this offseason and no player is untouchable from what we can see. So, depending on who gets the axe over the next month we will begin to have a clearer picture as the draft nears. - Right now, the objective is to get talented and healthy football players in the door and work from there. - - RelatedBleacher Report names 3 players Giants 'must consider cutting'Report: Raiders to hire Giants DC Patrick Graham for same rolePHOTOS: Every Super Bowl ring — from I to LV - - List - - 5 DC options Giants could consider to replace Patrick Graham - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Giants Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Giants Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
