After Brian Daboll was hired as the head coach of the New York Giants, fans are hoping he can have the same success with Daniel Jones that he had with Josh Allen while serving as the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills. - However, during an interview with “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network, Daboll pumped the brakes on any such comparison. - “I think it’s unfair right now,” Daboll said “Josh and I were together for four years. It took a village to help Josh — credit first goes to Josh Allen and his abilities and his desires and his competitiveness.” - “We got a long way to go,” Daboll added. - There was some thought that the Giants might move on from Jones with a new regime in place, but general manager Joe Shoen threw his support behind the former No. 6 overall pick upon taking the job. - - “There’s not a person who’s said a bad word about his work ethic, passion (or) desire to win,” Shoen said of Jones. “You got to have those traits as a quarterback. The kid has physical abilities. Arm strength, he’s athletic, he can run. So I’m really excited to work with Daniel. When the new staff gets in here, we’ll build an offense around Daniel to accentuate what he does best.” - With the Giants intent on moving forward with Jones, they can only hope Daboll has even close to the same kind of success with him as he did with Allen. - - RelatedReport: Giants' Kevin Sherrer, Burton Burns not expected to returnGiants request to interview Steelers’ Teryl Austin for DC vacancyDerrick Ward: Bill Belichick 'has a ton of power with the Giants' - - List - - Giants expected to hire Mike Kafka as OC: 7 things to know - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Giants Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Giants Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
