New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas underwent surgery to repair his left ankle last month — the second consecutive year in which that ankle has been operated on. - Dan Duggan of The Athletic was the first to report the news. - - The hope is that this surgery fixes the ankle issues that have bothered Thomas throughout his first two seasons. - — Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) February 16, 2022 - - - Thomas is expected to be at full health by the time New York’s offseason training program begins, but they’re likely to err on the side of caution with their only functional offensive lineman. - Despite dealing with ankle and foot issues (as well as a shoulder injury) throughout the season, Thomas appeared in and started all 16 games. He missed three games as a rookie due to the aforementioned ankle injury. - After a rough start to his rookie campaign, Thomas finished the season strong and came back even stronger in 2021. He raised his level of play significant and was even named to Pro Football Focus’ list of the Top 101 Players of 2021. - 80.
