The rumors of a possible trade of New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley have been running rampant this offseason. - The Giants are in cost-cutting mode right now, as they are still approximately $6 to $7 million over the salary cap with less than two weeks remaining before the new NFL fiscal year begins. - Barkley is scheduled to make $7.2 million this coming season and the Giants can only shed his salary via trade. The team has indicated it will deal him if the right offer comes along. - But what does Barkley want to do? According to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, he would like to stay with the Giants — and he just might get his wish, as the Giants want a lot in return for him and there’s been no offers of worth floated their way thus far. - - Saquon Barkley wants to stay and #Giants need to be blown away to trade him, sources say. “If he was traded to a team with just a decent offensive line,” one NFL coach said, “he could make them really regret it.”
