The New York Giants officially announced the signing of quarterback Tyrod Taylor earlier this week, giving them quality depth at the position behind presumed starter Daniel Jones. - But during his introductory Zoom call, Taylor refused to concede the starting role. He was steadfast in his determination to help the team, and that means staying ready to step in when called upon. - It also means keeping his body in shape, his timing down and his mechanics in line. - In an effort to do that, Taylor got right back to work after signing with the Giants. He joined Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Joshua Dobbs and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick for some private workouts on Friday. - The four got together at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia as Kaepernick continues to attempt and NFL comeback. - - Colin Kaepernick is training with Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and Josh Dobbs today . #colinkaepernick #justinfields pic.twitter.com/2SszEjm7Ch - — The Brent Hughes Show (@TopFanTV) March 18, 2022 - - - Ironically, the Giants’ decision to sign Taylor as Jones’ backup meant one less potential job for Kaepernick. New York was in search of a veteran quarterback with mobility and some felt Kap fit the bill. Ultimately however, Big Blue went in a different direction. - As for Taylor, he’s no stranger to working alongside Kaepernick. The two have been friends for years and have trained together dating back to Kaepernick’s time with the San Francisco 49ers. - - List - - Giants sign Tyrod Taylor: 7 things to know - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Giants Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Giants Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
