With the NFL Playoffs set to begin on Saturday, Frito-Lay and PepsiCo Beverage brands have teamed up for “Road to Super Bowl,” an ad campaign that aims to take fans on a ride leading up to Super Bowl LVI. They’ve also enlisted the help of several former NFL greats, including Peyton Manning, Jerome Bettis, Teddy Bradshaw and retired New York Giants legends, Eli Manning and Victor Cruz. The first “Road to Super Bowl” commercial was released this week and as it typically the case with the Manning brothers, it was a hit. “This commercial has it all – a combined 10 Super Bowl rings among the players, the best gameday drinks and snacks from PepsiCo Beverages and Frito-Lay, and of course I got to work alongside my brother,” Eli said, via Yahoo! Pepsi, of course, was the sponsor of one of the most tone-deaf giveaways in Giants history earlier this year. With the team falling apart and fans beginning to revolt, Pepsi and the Giants teamed up for “Fan Appreciation Day” which consisted of giving season ticket account holders one free medium Pepsi. But we can’t hold that against them. They did a good job with the commercial and casting Eli and Cruz was a terrific decision.
