The Seahawks are in the midst of a major roster rebuild. They’re also working on a hell of a public relations crisis. - In addition to trading their overwhelmingly popular franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos, Seattle is apparently seriously considering making a trade for Texans QB Deshaun Watson, who has a grand jury hearing today relating to 20+ accusations of sexual misconduct. - For a bonus, the Seahawks also released their beloved future Hall of Fame middle linebacker Bobby Wagner on the same day. - Moments ago, Wagner shared a tweet that said the organization didn’t even tell him he wasn’t coming back. - - Crazy part about all this. I played there for 10 years & I didn’t even hear it from them that I wasn’t coming back. - — Bobby Wagner (@Bwagz) March 11, 2022 - - - Given his age and the prospect of declining returns, cutting Wagner was not a tough call to make from a pure salary cap perspective, especially after trading Wilson. But to treat a franchise cornerstone with such disrespect is an awful look for Pete Carroll and John Schneider, hands down. - - RelatedDaniel Jeremiah: NFL expects Deshaun Watson to be traded to Seahawks - - List - - Seahawks could target these 3 quarterbacks in a trade for 2022 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Seahawks Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Seahawks Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
