Corey Harris is a former American football player who played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for over a decade. He was born on February 11, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, and attended Carter High School in Dallas, where he played football and was a standout athlete.

After high school, Harris attended Vanderbilt University, where he played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores. He was a four-year starter for the team and was named to the All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) team in his senior year. Harris was also a standout track and field athlete in college, competing in the 100-meter dash and the long jump.

Harris was selected by the Houston Oilers in the fifth round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played for the Oilers for four seasons, from 1992 to 1995, before the team moved to Tennessee and became the Tennessee Oilers. Harris played for the Oilers/Titans for two more seasons, from 1996 to 1997, before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 1998.

Harris played for the Seahawks for three seasons, from 1998 to 2000, before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. He played for the Ravens for two seasons, from 2001 to 2002, and was a key member of the team's defense during their Super Bowl XXXV championship season in 2001.

After the 2002 season, Harris signed with the Detroit Lions, where he played for one season in 2003 before retiring from the NFL. Over the course of his NFL career, Harris played in 167 games, starting 135 of them, and recorded 19 interceptions, 10.5 sacks, and 7 forced fumbles.

Harris was known for his versatility as a defensive player, as he could play both safety and cornerback positions. He was also known for his hard-hitting style of play and his ability to make big plays in crucial moments of games.

After retiring from the NFL, Harris worked as a high school football coach in Texas and also served as a color commentator for college football games on television. He was inducted into the Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015 in recognition of his outstanding college football career.
