Outside linebacker Harold Landry, who is arguably the Tennessee Titans’ most important pending free agent, has once again expressed his desire to remain with the team. - A former second-round pick of the Titans in 2018, Landry enters free agency off his best year as a pro, which should lead to a handsome pay day for the Boston College product. - Landry tallied a career-high 12 sacks in 2021 and played a key role in what was a defensive revival for Tennessee that saw the pass rush total 24 more sacks than the year prior. - While down at the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, Landry reiterated that he loves being with the Titans and hopes to come back, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. - “It’s no secret that I love playing for the Titans, and my family loves living in Tennessee,” Landry said. “So hopefully we can get a deal done.” - Back in December, Landry told The Athletic’s Dan Pompei that he would like to remain with the Titans. Pompei also noted that the two sides have already begun discussing a new contract. - - RelatedKevin Byard willing to restructure deal to help Titans keep Harold Landry - When speaking to the media down in Mobile, Alabama at the Senior Bowl, general manager Jon Robinson made it clear the team wants Landry back, also. - “We are going to do everything we can to try and keep Harold,” Robinson said. “But we understand there’s a lot of other things that need to go down, too.” - Landry reflected on his impressive 2021 season, but says he isn’t satisfied and will continue trying to improve where he can. - - “I know myself, and I know I am never really satisfied. I am always trying to improve every year. So that’s what I am anticipating – the best is yet to come. - - - “I feel like I took strides every year I’ve been (in Tennessee), especially going into this past year. I feel like I grew so much as a player on the field, but also as a leader. And I think it just all came together this year. Right now, I am just focusing on enjoying my time here right now, but then getting back to work and improving some more.” - - As far as what the Titans will do with Landry remains to be seen, but they do have a few options. Tennessee can ink Landry to a contract extension, or buy itself more time by slapping the franchise tag on him. - Whatever they decide to do, the Titans must make sure Landry is back in the two-tone blue in 2022. - - Related2022 Senior Bowl: News, notes and highlights from Thursday's practicesTaylor Lewan would consider retirement if Titans cut himJon Robinson: Titans, Mike Vrabel are working on contract extension - - List - - Photos, video of Titans at Thursday Pro Bowl practice - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Titans Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Titans Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
