News of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers buying land with the plans of building a home in Franklin, Tennessee, has sparked speculation that he could end up on the Titans this offseason. - Of course, this has “Tom Brady was checking out a school in Nashville” vibes — a silly rumor that turned out to be false in 2020 — so we’re understandably skeptical about it all. - With that said, if you were buying into the Rodgers stuff or just hoping the Titans would try and bring him in even before hearing about the veteran quarterback’s real estate venture, don’t get your hopes up. - According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, the Titans do not consider the future Hall of Fame signal-caller an option and instead are going to stick with embattled quarterback Ryan Tannehill under center. - “Rodgers got thrown into the mix of future Titans quarterback options this week. According to Jared Stillman of 102.5 The Game, Rodgers purchased land in Franklin, Tennessee — a suburb Nashville, where the Titans play — causing speculation that he could be headed to the Titans. - “However, a team source confirmed to ESPN that the Titans don’t consider Rodgers to be an option for them at quarterback and have full intentions of moving forward with Tannehill.” - Now, does this mean the Titans wouldn’t bring Rodgers in if they could find a way to make it work? We doubt it. - The desire Titans fans have for Rodgers is certainly understandable. After all, Tannehill was the biggest reason the Titans were eliminated from the playoffs, and, more simply, Rodgers would be a massive upgrade. - Even if the Titans could land Rodgers in a trade, they’d still have to unload Tannehill’s contract, which would be difficult to do, either by trading or cutting him. - Chances are the Packers would have to take Tannehill back as part of a trade involving Rodgers for the Titans to have a chance to make it work. - Bottom line: don’t get your hopes up about Rodgers wearing the two-tone blue in 2022. - - RelatedTitans' Ryan Cowden among 3 to interview for Steelers GM jobTitans plan to hire ex-Texans OC Tim Kelly to offensive staffHarold Landry reiterates desire to remain with Titans - - List - - Potential QB options for Titans in 2022 NFL draft - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Titans Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Titans Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
