The franchise tag deadline came and went on Tuesday and the Tennessee Titans did not use theirs on stud outside linebacker, Harold Landry. - Now, the Titans are facing a situation in which Landry will hit the open market next week. - If no deal is done, Landry can begin negotiating with teams on March 14, the start of the legal tampering period in free agency. Deals can then be made official on March 16, the start of the new league year. - Our belief all along has been that Landry and the Titans will get a long-term deal done, and we remain steadfast in that belief. - Perhaps the Titans are so confident a deal will get done soon that using the tag wasn’t necessary. It’s hard to imagine Tennessee would let Landry leave with nothing more than a compensatory pick to show for it. - Shortly after news broke of the Titans not using the tag on Landry and not having a long-term deal done, wide receiver A.J. Brown took to Twitter to react to the news. - - I hope we can keep Harold Landry but if not go get what your worth bro - — AJ Brown (@1kalwaysopen_) March 8, 2022 - - - Most estimates have Landry making around $17 million per year in a new deal, whether that’s from the Titans or another team. However, if the Boston College product does indeed hit the open market, a bidding war could ensue that drives up his price. - - RelatedTitans select QB Matt Corral in CBS Sports mock draftA.J.
