Improving the depth out wide is undoubtedly one of the Tennessee Titans’ main priorities this offseason. - Nick Westbrook-Ikhine did well last season considering the positions he was often forced into. However, he is more of a special teams ace who adds valuable depth to a wide receiver room as a fourth or fifth option. - The Titans need to get a consistent top three on the wide receiver depth chart if they’re going to take that next step as an offense in 2022. One possible solution for Tennessee could be Alabama wide receiver, Jameson Willams. - The former Alabama star is currently recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered during the National Championship Game against Georgia. - The injury is a brutal setback in the short term, but it could prove to be a blessing in disguise if he lands in the right situation and can eventually contribute on a contending team rather than one that’s focused on a rebuild. - Titans general manager, Jon Robinson, has a history of taking chances on injured players whose on-field ceiling supersedes the prospect’s present injury timeline. - Jeffery Simmons (2019) and Caleb Farley (2021) were both recovering from offseason surgeries and there was no clarity on when, or if, those players would be ready for their rookie campaigns. - That type of uncertainty ultimately forced the two blue-chip prospects to tumble down the board on draft night and right into the lap of the Titans. - After missing the first six games of his career, Tennessee eventually hit an absolute grand slam with the selection of Simmons, while the jury is still out on Farley. - Could Robinson follow this philosophy once again this year by selecting the electrifying wide receiver out of Alabama? - - Let’s take a closer look at what makes Williams such an intriguing possibility when the Titans are on the clock.
