Tennessee Titans fans are beginning to panic about the team’s prospects at the wide receiver position after the team released Julio Jones and has yet to make a significant move to replace him or add the depth the team already needed going into the offseason. - While it remains to be seen what the Titans will do in free agency with their options dwindling, it’s a lock that the team will add a wide receiver in the 2022 NFL draft. - In his post-Deshaun Watson trade mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Titans taking North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson at No. 26 overall. - It seems the Watson trade has shaken things up quite a bit in Easterling’s eyes ahead of the draft. Other than Jahan Dotson, none of the usual suspects we’ve seen mocked to Tennessee were available at No. 26. - Before his post-Watson mock, Easterling pegged Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams to Tennessee in his post-Davante Adams trade mock. - Here’s more on the 6-foot-4, 208-pound North Dakota State product, who has been moving up draft boards, per Drae Harris of The Draft Network: - “Christian Watson is a very good athlete with good speed, agility, and excellent body control. For a taller receiver, he is surprisingly dynamic and displays the ability to consistently win against man coverage. In the passing game, he is extremely tough to cover. He can defeat press with foot quickness and has surprisingly good vertical speed. His home-run speed threatens a defender’s cushion quickly. He does a good job of dropping his weight while displaying the separation quickness at the top of the route. He has a very good catch radius and is a matchup problem in contested-catch situations. He can contort his body to make tough catches and is dynamic with the football in his hands. In the NFL he is an outside receiver who projects with very good ability in the kicking game both as a returner and a core special teamer.” - While we can certainly debate about which receiver the Titans should take, Watson checks multiple boxes for Tennessee. He’s a big red zone target who can play the outside role, and he has the speed to be a threat down the field. - Adding a receiver in the upcoming draft is no doubt a must, but general manager Jon Robinson must also sign at least one established veteran beforehand. - - RelatedBen Jones was ready to 'move on' before re-signing with TitansTitans should call Rams about trade for Robert Woods or Van JeffersonTitans 2021 draft picks catch strays in Davante Adams trade analysis - - List - - New Tennessee Titans TE Austin Hooper: 3 things to know - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Titans Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Titans Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
